Aegle marmelos  also commonly known in Sri Lanka as Beli, is a species of tree native to Southeast Asia which many beliefs that can treat various illnesses in traditional medicine. Many Sri Lankans enjoy a cup of the beli mal herbal tea with a piece of kithul jaggery. It is a common belief that it treats asthma, indigestion, heartburn, and relieving palpitations.
Hence the Leos decided on giving a bei mal dansala on the 16th of July 2019 at the Parama Dhamma Niketharanaramaya Temple.

We prepared the herbal drink with the support of our brother Leo Dhanusha. The pan filled with water stood on a three brick cooker made by the leos while some Leos' was ensuring the flames do not reduce the others were cleaning the needed utensils. The kithul jaggery was cut into small pieces and the stand to give away the belimal drink was kept ready near the gates of the temple. With the temple packed with many observing sil we were able to give away the herbal drink to over 100 people.

The Leos moved onto the outside of the temple premises to distribute the herbal drinks to the residence of the area. We were visited by many Leos from our district including the District Chairman for Leos Lion Anura Goonetilleke also enjoyed a cup of the delicious beli mal tea. As the sunset and it was getting darker we were able to complete the project successfully.
